EHI Live 2013: Event Preview

EHI Live 2013

Having developed various marketing solutions for clients in the technology and software sector, I’m heading to the EHI Live event at the NEC next week to find out more about advancements in technology for the healthcare sector.

The two day conference programme features talks from software providers supplying to the NHS, but will be predominantly driven by GP’s and CMIO’s working at various NHS hospitals around the UK.

Improving the safety, quality and cost-effectiveness of unscheduled care using big data

I’m particularly interested to find out more from Ascribe on Wednesday, a leading supplier of Business Intelligence, Consultancy and clinically focussed IT solutions and services in healthcare. Working with Leeds Teaching Hospitals and collaborating with Microsoft and Intel, Head of Business and Clinical Intelligence Paul Henderson will be presenting on ways in which new insights can be gained into clinical and operational practice from the mining of textual data.

AIDC, procurement efficiency and inventory management in NHS Trusts

Also of importance, is GS1 UK’s Marketing Manager Chris Doyle’s talk on automatic identification and data capture technologies in the healthcare sector. Chris will be discussing how AIDC has been making efficiency savings in the food industry, but that it’s potential in the healthcare sector has been ignored for too long.

Looking at how new technologies and systems can improve efficiency across any sector is something that is akin to the marketing solutions we work on with our clients. Ensuring that the product or service benefits are clearly communicated to potential healthcare customers, including those in public sector procurement, continues to be a marketing challenge for the software for healthcare sector.
