Introducing our newest additions to the team…

Andy Gilmore b&w  stuart-headshot_square

We’re pleased to welcome two new faces into the growing Katapult team…Andy Gilmore and Stuart Green.

With five years’ agency experience, Andy (left) is our new addition to the creative team. Hailing originally from Northern Ireland, Andy came to study Graphic Design at University of Derby before choosing to stay in the city and make Derby his home – though he is still looking for the perfect pint of Guinness.

Stuart (right) joins us as Digital Project Manager. Having trained as a developer and since become a Project Manager he has the perfect combination of technical and planning skills. Stuart’s a Forest fan, but apparently they’re just as infuriating as DCFC so we imagine there’ll be some joint Monday wallowing with rival Derby County supporter Martin Broadhurst in the coming weeks.

To help you get to know Andy and Stuart better, we asked them a few questions:

Q: What sort of projects are you most looking forward to getting your teeth into here?

Andy: Mainly more design for digital projects. The digital world is always evolving so it’s important to keep your finger on the pulse and make sure you’re ahead of the game. I like that I’m part of an agency that wants to push the barriers when looking at new ways to create good design and user experience for the web and I’m looking forward to doing more of that myself.

Stuart: Digital projects that include integration with client systems, social media and API integrations. Projects that make things accessible, adaptable and future proof for clients.

Q: If you weren’t working in the design/digital world, what would your dream job be?

Andy: When I was a kid I wanted to be a racing car driver. Even now, I like to think I am one sometimes when I’m out in my car.

Stuart: A racing driver for Audi e-tron at the Le Mans 24 hour! (RH: interesting coincidence considering both guys were asked these questions separately)

Q:  What’s the last thing you laughed out loud at?

Andy: A video on YouTube about an ‘excited train guy’ had me in stitches (RH: definitely worth a watch).

Stuart: I was in a pitch the other day with Dawn when about ten minutes in, someone interrupts our presentation to say he thinks he must have come into the wrong meeting – we thought he was with the client and they thought he was with us. That made us giggle a bit.

Q: What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

Andy: Really awful action films, like Die Hard (RH: that’s not awful) and cheesy films with Stallone, Chuck Norris and Jason Statham.

Stuart: Cheryl Cole….or jazzy socks. (RH: Not sure Cheryl would approve of the jazzy socks SG: That’s not what she said to me on Twitter).

Q: What’s your idea of a great night out?

Andy: Start off playing Call of Duty with friends before going out for beers and ending up in a casino. The cocktails and cheesy big band music make me feel like i’m in Casino Royale.

Stuart: Start with a few glasses of wine, followed by a nice fillet steak and then clubbing until 4am!

Q: What in your opinion is the greatest invention of all time?

Andy: Real or fake? Fake would be the Delorean out of Back to the Future or real would be a good DSLR camera and fish eye lenses.

Stuart: The FA Cup, because it’s anybody’s game; I like how a second division team can play a premiership team and make them look stupid.

Andy and Stuart have already hit the ground running but if you haven’t been introduced yet and would like to give them a friendly welcome, you can do so at and
